Less red tape, more community energy

One of Australia’s social enterprise success stories, Hepburn Wind, are doing it, and doing it rather well; rallying the local community around a renewable energy project. So let’s not be under illusion: this is doable stuff, it’s valuable stuff and and it’s the really good stuff , that matters.

Clearly the opportunity exists for many others to pick up the mantle and do more of the same and while there are some grand visions out there, it appears that these could be significantly catalysed if our local and federal bureaucrats would start peeling away some of that annoyingly sticky red tape, which is bound to get an airing at the Community Energy Congress that’s coming up in June
